Polulu valley |
D e t a i l s : Polulu valley one of the many valleys along the kohala coast. It features many trees and waterfalls, along with an exiting beach at the end of the hike. Polulu valley lookout is easy to get to, and is safe for the whole family. Just be careful of the many cliffs and drop offs throughout the lookout spot. There have been many deaths along the hike in the past month.
T i m e : The hike is seven hours one way. Most go one way and camp. S a f e t y : The hike goes along a steep cliff that would not be recommended for children under the age of 21. Beware going to far. Jungle men may shoot .Be prepared and make sure to bring extra water and food. Caution! Do not get stuck in the mud! |
Po'okooko |
D e t a i l s: Po'okooko is a beautiful family friendly hiking spot that will take you through an amazing cleared trail that goes throughout a tropical jungle. Half way is an amazing jungle waterfall about two feet tall. On the bottom of the waterfall it features an amazing swimming hole.
T i m e : The hike is a half an hour round trip. About 15 minutes each way. S a f e t y : Bring water, food, and a weapon of any kind. Possible electric eels in swimming hole. And possible other angry tourists. |

D e t a i l s : Onokodoodoo is an ancient Hawaiian civilization that thrived long ago. It was believed that King Kamehameha gave it the name, 'Onokudoodoo', because King Kamehameha daughter's dog took the biggest dump in Hawaiian history. This hiking trail is not only an amazing hike, but also a good camping spot for the whole family.
T i m e : The hike is about 20 min in, and 40 min out, uphill. Not recommended to camp over tree hours. S a f e t y : Be prepared to bring extra food and water, and a hat. Preferably a sun blocking hat. Sun is extra hot, many people have not made it back out from the treacherous hike uphill in the blazing hot sun. |
